Purlo legal

Terms of use

These terms describe the honest boundaries of Purlo. It preserves the evidence behind search and AI visibility work, but it cannot promise what a search engine or model will say next.

Effective date: 8 August 2026

1. The service

These terms describe use of Purlo, an SEO and answer visibility product. Purlo can read a website and documents supplied by a business, ask questions that buyers may ask, measure whether AI assistants and Google recommend that business, explain competing recommendations, and help produce content from approved brand facts. The service includes the hosted application when an operator provides it and the self-host software when a buyer installs it.

Purlo is an instrument for inspecting evidence. It is not a promise that an AI assistant will mention a business, that Google will rank a page, or that a generated draft will increase traffic. Search and AI systems change their outputs, indexes, policies, and interfaces. A Purlo result reports the sample and evidence available for that run. It does not predict an outcome that the database cannot support.

2. Accounts and access

You must provide an email address and keep account credentials private. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for choosing people who may use a project. The hosted application is designed around one owner account in this version. If an operator gives you a separate written agreement with additional users or roles, that agreement controls those access arrangements.

You must give accurate information needed to operate the account, use a password that is not reused for a sensitive service, and tell the operator when access should be removed. Do not share a session cookie, password, API key, Google token, or provider credential. The operator may limit or suspend access when necessary to protect the service, investigate abuse, or respond to a security incident.

A project belongs to the account that created or was assigned it. You may not use a project to read another account's source material or evidence. Purlo's normal queries enforce project scope, but access to a self-host machine, database, backup, or administrator account must also be protected by the local operator.

3. Your sources and content

You keep ownership of your website, documents, brand facts, prompts, and other material you submit. You give Purlo the permission needed to store, process, display, and evaluate that material for the project. This permission includes crawling pages you identify, extracting text from documents you upload, sending relevant content to a configured AI provider, and retaining the records needed to show the evidence chain.

You are responsible for having the right to connect a domain, copy page content, upload a document, or submit information about another person. Do not upload confidential material unless your organization has decided that the configured hosting and AI providers may process it. Do not use Purlo to bypass access controls, copy material that you are not allowed to access, or expose a private source to an account that should not see it.

Purlo may display source URLs, prompts, raw answers, evaluation records, and generated drafts to the people who have access to the relevant project. Keep project access aligned with the sensitivity of the source material. Deleting a project or evidence record can remove the support for historical measurements, so retain an export if your organization needs an audit record.

4. AI answers and evidence

Purlo sends prompt text and relevant page or document content to the configured AI provider so it can receive an answer. The first implementation uses the Sider bridge. Provider responses can be wrong, incomplete, inconsistent, unsafe, or unavailable. Purlo keeps the raw answer as an immutable evidence record and writes later evaluation beside it. You must review the answer and its cited source before relying on it for a business decision or publishing it.

A visibility number is meaningful only with its denominator, freshness, provider outcome, prompt, raw answer, and source context. Purlo excludes timeouts, rate limits, safety refusals, parse failures, and non-triggered AI Overview runs from visibility denominators rather than treating them as zero mentions. A result can therefore be unknown or not enough data. Do not represent an estimate, an AI-generated idea, or a Search Console measurement as the same kind of evidence.

Generated content is limited to facts that the account has approved. Purlo can block a draft that contains a quarantined number, forbidden claim, or banned phrase. That gate is a product control, not a guarantee that every approved fact is suitable for every audience. You remain responsible for checking a draft, its sources, permissions, legal implications, and final publication.

5. Google connections

The product is designed to use Google Search Console for real demand and position data rather than third-party keyword estimates. A Search Console connection is optional. If you connect it, you authorize Purlo to read the selected property and use the returned information in the relevant project. Search Console values are measured in your Search Console and may differ from another property's data, another date range, or another reporting view.

Read-only Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 tokens are planned for the later integration feature. If the operator enables that feature, the connection screen should show the requested permissions before you approve them. Purlo will not treat a future integration as active until a token is provided. Google can revoke a token, change an API response, or restrict access, and Purlo cannot control those events.

6. Self-host mode

Self-host mode lets a buyer run the application, database, queue, and stored evidence on a machine or network it controls. The Purlo hosted service does not receive the buyer's account data, source material, prompts, raw answers, or logs from that installation. The buyer is responsible for deployment, access control, backups, updates, monitoring, and deletion. A self-host installation is not a support channel into the buyer's machine.

A buyer may configure its own AI provider keys. A request to that provider can include prompt text and source content because the buyer chose to send it. That external provider's terms, retention settings, and security practices apply to the request. The buyer can keep the request local by using a local provider. Purlo does not receive a copy of a self-host request merely because the buyer uses Purlo software.

A self-host licence does not give the buyer permission to remove notices, misrepresent Purlo as a different product, or distribute credentials. The licence and any written order supplied with the package can add installation, seat, update, or support terms. If those terms conflict with this section, the specific written licence controls the self-host use.

7. Acceptable use

You may use Purlo for lawful work on websites, documents, prompts, evidence, and content that your organization is allowed to process. You may not use it to attack a provider, evade a rate limit, probe another tenant, upload malware, distribute personal data without a lawful basis, impersonate a business, or generate content intended to deceive. You may not claim that Purlo measured a number when the displayed evidence does not support the claim.

You may not interfere with the application, queue, database, or provider bridge. Do not send input designed to exhaust resources, bypass a content gate, or cause the service to store data it does not need. If you find a security problem, report it to the operator through the account or support channel instead of testing it against another project.

8. Availability, changes, and paid access

The operator may change, pause, or retire a feature, provider connection, model, or interface. A provider outage can prevent a run from completing. Purlo should record that outcome, but it cannot make an unavailable provider answer. The operator may perform maintenance and may remove a capability when a provider, law, security issue, or infrastructure change requires it.

This Phase 0 foundation does not process a payment inside the application. If a hosted plan, subscription, or self-host licence is later offered, the price, renewal, cancellation, refund, and tax terms should be stated in the checkout, invoice, or written order that applies to that purchase. A plan does not create a ranking guarantee, a traffic promise, or a promise that every provider surface is available.

If you want to stop a paid service, use the cancellation route stated in the applicable order or contact the operator before the next renewal. If an operator grants access without a paid order, it may remove that grant according to the terms supplied with it. The service owner should make any material change to the applicable commercial terms visible before it takes effect.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using a hosted account at any time and may ask the operator to delete its project data. The operator may suspend or terminate access for a serious terms breach, unpaid amount under an applicable order, a security risk, a legal request, or an operational reason that makes continued access unsafe. When practical, the operator should give notice and an opportunity to correct a problem, but it may act without notice when delay would increase the risk.

After termination, the operator may retain limited records for security, billing, dispute, or legal reasons. The privacy policy explains active storage, backups, and deletion requests. A self-host buyer must stop using the software and remove local copies when the applicable licence ends, unless the written licence says otherwise.

10. Disclaimers and responsibility

Purlo is provided as an evidence and workflow tool. To the extent allowed by law, the operator does not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or suitable for a particular decision. Search engines and AI providers control their own indexes, models, policies, answers, and rate limits. A Purlo result is not legal, financial, medical, security, or other professional advice.

You are responsible for the decisions you make from Purlo records, the claims you publish, the permissions for your sources, and the way you protect credentials. You are also responsible for reviewing generated content and for correcting a source or approved fact that is wrong. If a source is inaccurate, the evidence chain can faithfully preserve an inaccurate input. Keeping the chain intact does not make the source true.

Nothing in these terms limits a right or remedy that cannot legally be limited. If a written order names a governing law, forum, liability cap, service level, or support obligation, that order controls for the covered purchase. Where no order supplies those terms, the operator and account owner should resolve questions through the support contact provided with access rather than relying on an invented jurisdiction in this page.

11. Contact

For hosted use, contact the service owner or account administrator that provided access. Include your account email, project name, the relevant run or source URL, and the action you want taken. Do not send a password, session cookie, API key, or unredacted secret. For self-host use, contact the local administrator for deployment, access, updates, and deletion. These terms take effect on the date shown above and apply until replaced by a later version or a more specific written agreement.
